These kind of scrubbers are also known as Packed Bed Scrubber or Packed Column Scrubbers. They are a type of wet scrubber which are specifically designed for chemical scrubbing of gaseous contaminants from airstreams.
In other words, these scrubbers are a highly efficient way to remove soluble contaminants from air and other gas streams. Packed towers are also used for stripping contaminants from liquid streams and for direct contact cooling of gas streams. An internal packing of the scrubber housing provides a large wetted surface area to induce close contact between the contaminated gas and the scrubbing liquid.
Offered range of scrubbers are highly recommended by our clients for
the efficient removal of inorganic gases, odors, fumes, and are particularly appropriate where gas streams have extreme pH levels. They are well suited for use as primary or secondary systems in combining with thermal oxidizers, and are also used in a series where there are multiple-contaminant gas streams.
Manufactured range is most commonly used in wet air scrubbers, which has a hollow tube or pipe filled with a specifically designed packing material. It can be designed with structured packing or this packing can be filled with a small object. These type of scrubbers may contain catalyst particles or adsorbents such as zeolite pellets, granular activated carbon, and suchlike.
Generally, they are produced to improve contact between two phases in a chemical or similar process. They can be used in a chemical reactor, a distillation process, or a scrubber, also beds have been used to store heat in chemical plants.
